I am interested in attending the tai chi class. I am only 56,however. Am I too young to attend senior center classes?

Hi Sheree, thank you for your question. No, you are not too young to attend our classes. We do have members come in that are in your age group. As far as the Tai Chi classes go…..our instructor is ill right now and we hope he will return in September. We do have an 11:15 AM Silver Sneakers class on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays that also is attended by a young group of members, or Yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:30 AM. Please feel free to contact us with further questions.

Do you need any mats or equipment for yoga?

Hi Lana, thank you for your question. All our participants bring their own mats & blocks to class, so we are OK and don’t need any yoga related equipment! Thank you again for thinking of us!

I am looking for a gentle yoga class. Currently I am attending a cardiac rehabilitation program and will finish in a couple of weeks. I have some back issues so I thought yoga would be a good place to start. Also interested in Tai Chi.

The easy to follow, slow flowing movements of Qigong (chi gong) are excellent for anyone looking to build strength and balance after rehab. It can be practiced seated or standing. It is also an excellent foundation to learn before beginning Tai Chi.

I’m interested in joining two classes scheduled for Fridays. Do I need to call and register, before attending the classes?
    Thanks!

I live out of state, but visit family in the area often. Can I join your exercise classes? If so, is it free?

Absolutely. We will need to have you fill out an application but since you’re from out of state we won’t require you to pay our membership fee unless you would like to make a donation to the center. If you have any questions feel free to email me at danw@wcseniors.org or call at 610-431-4242
