The I&A Department serves as a PA MEDI (Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight) site for SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) Medicare counseling.

Chester County PA MEDI counselors are specially trained staff and volunteers who can answer your questions and provide you with objective, easy-to-understand information about Medicare. PA MEDI is Pennsylvania’s SHIP Program and locally under the auspices of the Chester County Department of Aging Services. PA MEDI services are free, unbiased and confidential.

PA Medi provides Medicare 101, 102 and Open Enrollment presentations. You can find a calendar with the presentations on their website along with FAQs https://www.chesco.org/477/PA-MEDI

PA Medi counselors can explain Medicare options, how to enroll in Medicare Parts A, B, C, D and Medigaps, explain cost, Medicare Saving Program, Extra help with drug costs, look at plans during open enrollment and more.

You can schedule a Medicare appointment at the Center’s front desk, either in person or by calling 610-431-4242.

A counselor is available on the 2nd Monday of each month for three appointment times: 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 12:00 PM.

Additionally, a counselor is available on the 3rd Tuesday of each month for three appointment times: 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, and 11:30 AM.

Please remember to bring the following: all insurance information and cards, a list of medications and their doses, proof of income (assistance is based on eligibility), and any letters you’ve received from plans, CMS, DHS, SSA, or your employer. Thank you!
