The Benefits of Breakfast
Everyone knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But do you know why? A healthy breakfast refuels your body after your long fast (sleep) and replenishes your blood sugar, giving you the energy necessary to start a new day. Studies also show that people who eat a healthy breakfast are more likely to consume more vitamins and minerals and less fat and cholesterol over the course of the day, have better concentration and be more productive throughout the morning, control their weight, have more strength and endurance, and have lower cholesterol, which reduces the risk of heart disease. If you’re already eating breakfast every day – whether here at WC Senior Center or elsewhere – good for you, you’re on the right track! If not, consider starting – you may be surprised at how much better you feel.
